Lace choice can be an easy way to personalize a pair of sneakers. Additionally, laces get damaged and spare laces lost in the shuffle. If only there was a reputable brand of sneaker replacement laces. Enter Fully Laced!
What Are Some Good Sneaker Replacement Laces?
Fully Laced has been making sneaker replacement laces for over 15 years. In addition to standard laces, they have laces that work on SB Dunks, Air Jordan 11s and other sneakers with odd types of laces.
One of the best things for me personally about Fully Laced is that they sell on eBay. This makes it convenient. Many sneaker fanatics already use eBay for transactions anyway!
Where To Find SB Dunk Replacement Laces
Fully Laced was one of the only brands that made the fat oval SB Dunk replacement laces back in the day. To this day, its the first brand many check when looking for some new laces for their Dunks.
Often times when buying an old grail off a private seller, things like spare laces get lost in the shuffle. When I bought my pair of Bisons over a decade ago, it included the brown SB laces. But what about all those cool photos I had been seeing with people rocking bright red laces in their pairs?
At that time, pretty much my only option was to go to the one brand that made replacement SB Laces – Fully Laced. I was easily able to get the large oval red laces that look perfect in a pair of Bisons!
There are a couple caveats to getting replacement SB Laces from this brand. The first is that the laces tend to have Fully Laced printed on the aglets. Additionally, the replacement SB Dunk laces are ever so slightly wider than a standard SB lace. Neither of these things are a huge deal, but both are definitely something to be aware of.
The biggest challenge I find is matching up the colors to the lace you are trying to replace or to the shoe you are trying to customize the look of. They have several options available on eBay! Occasionally I’ve gotten the shade wrong on the new laces, but one can always find another shoe to use them on! For example, I’ve tossed replacement SB laces from them on my standard non-SB Dunks to great effect!
Where To Find Air Jordan 11 Replacement Laces
Plain rope laces won’t cut it for a pair of Air Jordan XIs. The sneaker needs a thick, high quality rope lace to either replace or upgrade the look on a pair of 11s. For this purpose, look no further than Fully Laced!
It seems like rope laces are sold everywhere by all types of brands. However, when it comes to getting the right gauge for a pair of Air Jordan 11s, your standard sizes won’t do. You need something that will match the size and look of the AJXI’s included laces. Here’s where Fully Laced comes in handy!
The brand provides over 10 options for replacement or custom Jordan 11 laces. Imagine a pair of Space Jams with black rope laces, only this time the laces have concord aglets that match the sneaker’s accent colors! Shades like neon and gamma blue are available to help match up with some of the more quirky AJXI colorways.
While I don’t rock a lot of Jordans these days, if I were looking for some replacement laces or a way to customize the look a pair of 11s, the first place I’d check is the Fully Laced Air Jordan XI laces on eBay.
Where To Find Gel Lyte III Reflective Rope Laces
The Asics Gel Lyte III sometimes comes with flat laces, however the reflective rope lace look is also common and looks great in the sneaker. If your pair doesn’t come with rope laces, check out Fully Laced for a replacement.
Fans of the Asics Gel Lyte III such as myself are spoiled with good quality and sometimes nice extras at a great price. Sometimes, these extras include some rope laces. The classic “collab” look on some GL3s includes some rope laces with some 3M reflective bits baked right in.
If your pair just came with flat laces, or you lost the included rope laces, give Fully Laced a look on eBay. They have around 30 different options listed on there as far as rope laces go. Many, if not all of them have some reflective element on them to help them stand out.
There are of course many other sneakers that look good with a rope lace. However, in my world, Fully Laced had the Asics Gel Lyte 3 in mind specifically when they started creating reflective rope lace varieties. I think if you want some new laces for some GL3s, or even some of the hiking-inspired sneakers gaining popularity these days, you might want to check out FL’s collection.
The Right Lace For The Job
Some sneakerheads don’t like lace swaps. Personally, I try to rock with the brand’s original vision for a sneaker with the included lace option(s). However, sometimes a sneaker will benefit from a different color lace, or is missing an included set of laces. In these instances, having a brand that is geared specifically towards replacement laces for collectible sneakers is very helpful.
While I have bought directly from the Fully Laced website back in the day, I appreciate them being available on eBay as well. The convenience of already having an eBay account means I can buy new laces in a couple of clicks, and even get free shipping depending on the options selected! Their website is of course still good to check for more options than what they have available on eBay.
